Blind Spot by Dani Pettrey (Book #3 - Chesapeake Valor Series)

Book Description:

FBI agent Declan Grey is in the chase of his life--but isn't sure exactly what he's chasing after. Threatened by a terrorist that "the wrath is coming," Grey fears something horrible is about to be unleashed on American soil. When his investigation leads him to a closed immigrant community, he turns to Tanner Shaw to help him. She's sought justice for refugees and the hurting around the world, and if there's anyone who can help him, it's Tanner.

Tanner Shaw has joined the FBI as a crisis counselor . . . meaning she now has more opportunity to butt heads with Declan. But that tension also includes a spark she can't deny, and she's pretty sure Declan feels the same. But before anything can develop between them, they discover evidence of a terror cell--and soon are in a race against the clock to stop the coming "wrath" that could cost thousands their lives.

My Thoughts:
I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this the 3rd book in the Chesapeake Valor series.  This book was worth the wait!   It seems like forever since I read the last book, but it didn’t take me long to recall the events from the previous book and I found myself totally sucked into this book.  Two days later (I had to sleep, eat & work!) I was finished.   ðŸ˜Š

This Christian/Inspirational Fiction book allows the characters to show through their words and actions their faith in God.  It is just a part of their life and the author does an excellent job of showing that without overdoing it!  As the reader, you know they are Christians, but it is not overpowering!

If you like a book full of action and suspense, then you might want to give this series a chance!   One of the characters, Declan was highlighted more in this book than the others and I was so happy about that!  He has always been one of my favorite characters in the books and I was glad this book brought out more of his character and deep beliefs in the storyline.

The ending of the book was quite a surprise!  I love a good cliff-hanger and I was not disappointed by this one!!!!

I would recommend that if you have not read Cold Shot and Still Life that you do so before you read this book. There is a lot of history between all the characters in this book and it will help you connect the pieces together easier.

Still Life by Dani Pettrey (Chesapeake Valor Series #2)

If you are looking for a good read with romance and suspense, this just might be the book for you.  I wanted to read it as soon as I saw the handsome man on the cover and even more when I realized it was the 2nd book in the Chesapeake Valor Series written by Dani Pettrey.  If you haven't read the Cold Shot (the first book in the series), you might want to get that book and read it first.  J

I enjoyed every single minute I spent reading Still Life.  Just like every book I have read by Dani Pettrey, I can’t bring myself to put it down until I finish it.  This book was no different.  From the very beginning of the book, I wanted to keep reading and reading and reading
This is a very fast paced book.  When a young lady is discovered missing the characters from the last book begin to show up as their expertise is needed in solving the mystery.  The characters are unique and they work well together and make quite an interesting group of people.  This book will have you sitting on the edge of your seat.  Just when you think you have things figured out, another twist happens in the story.

I received an ebook of Still Life from Bethany House Publishers and in exchange I have written my honest review of this book.

Cold Shot by Dani Pettrey

As I continue to expand my repertoire of different styles of authors I came across a book written by Dani Pettrey.  When I read the cover of one of her books, I knew I needed to give her an opportunity to be added to my list of "want to read" authors.  Cold Shot is the book I chose to read.

SYNOPSIS:
Griffin McCray is an ex-sniper who now works as a park ranger at Gettysburg.  After he discovers a body in a shallow grave near Little Round Top, Finley Scott is brought to the site.   She quickly concludes that the remains are relatively recent.  Declan Gray, an FBI agent is brought in to take over the case.   Parker, a crime scene analyst is also brought in to to help solve the case.  The reader quickly learns that these three men were best friends at one time.  However, events that happened in the past have left Declan and Griffin’s friendship quite strained.  As they investigate the murder, they quickly realize that all of their lives are in danger.  Relationships develop... Issues from the past surface...  Mysterious disappearance are investigated...

MY THOUGHTS:
Cold Shot is apparently the first book in Dani Pettrey’s Chesapeake Valor series.   After reading this book, I can definitely see several different directions that the author could go with these different characters.

I did enjoy the romance between the characters that developed throughout this story.  The characters’ faith in God was woven into the story and the author was able to portray that with the characters personalities and the needs of each of the characters.   The characters definitely needed to work through issues by trusting God and forgiving others.  However... it wasn't what I would call a "religious book!"

The book was suspenseful and it didn't turn out quite like I had anticipated...or as I would have hoped...but I still enjoyed the read.

As I began this book I must admit that Ifelt like maybe there was a book before this one.  Since I am a fast reader, I initially thought I probably just missed something... However, after several hours of reading I found myself continuing to flip back in the book to clarify who the characters were.

Although I will most likely read the next book in the series, I did find a few things a bit annoying.  There are brief paragraphs of unknown characters sharing their thoughts and conversations and I found them a bit distracting. I also like to visualize books when I read them... and for this book I never really had a picture in my head.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers/NetGalley.  In exchange, I have given an honest review of what I thought about this book.

Silenced by Dani Pettrey ~ Review

I had no idea when I started that this was book 4 of the series.  I loved how Dani Pettrey was able to draw me into the book even though I hadn’t read the other three books in the series.  I have never been climbing (or ever read about it) so this was a new experience for me.

This book is full of action that kept my mind busy with the unexpected twists throughout.  I was amazed at the progress of the story.  I loved everything about itthe characters the plot the adventure the settings the action throughoutthe mysterythe suspenseand of course the romance!  !

I must admit that I was somewhat disappointed that I figured out who the murderer was relatively quickly in the book.  I was secretly hoping that it would have been a person that I never suspected.  Oh well.  It was still a wonderful book!

This book contains a wonderful mixture of hope, family and a strong faith element that made me love it even more.  A beautifully written book.

I was given a copy of this book by Netgalley for my honest review.
